We are a small team with a singular belief: that the physicians who choose to truly know their patients deserve tools built with the same care they bring to their practice.
The Name
Shomer — a keeper, a guardian, a watchman
In the ancient Hebrew tradition, a shomer stood watch through the night — present, attentive, faithful. Not a physician. Not a diagnostician. Simply a guardian who stayed close and kept watch until morning came. That is exactly what we do.
Our Story
Shomer Health was founded by a Family Nurse Practitioner student who understood firsthand the gap that exists in after-hours patient care — not because the physicians don't care, but because there is simply no infrastructure to bridge the distance between a worried patient at 11 PM and their provider waking up at 6 AM.
Direct Primary Care was supposed to fix the broken relationship between patients and their doctors. It succeeded. But it created a new problem: the DPC physician is deeply connected to their patients — and deeply responsible for them — even when the office is closed.

Shomer Health was built to stand watch between sundown and sunrise. To gather information, triage with care, and deliver a clear morning picture to the physician who needs to act. The AI never diagnoses. It never prescribes. It simply keeps watch — faithfully — until morning.
We are a small team. We are building something for small teams. We believe that is a feature, not a limitation.
What We Stand On
We will tell you what our platform can do and what it cannot. We will never overstate a capability, obscure a limitation, or hide behind fine print. In healthcare, honesty is not a courtesy — it is a clinical standard. We hold ourselves to it.
We handle protected health information with the same reverence we would want extended to our own families. Every architectural decision, every line of code, every policy we write asks the same question: would we be comfortable if a patient could see exactly how this works?
Our work is rooted in a conviction that we are called to serve well — not merely to build well. We believe that caring for the sick is sacred work, and that the tools built to support that work carry the same weight. We do not take that lightly.
Why It Matters
The large health systems have armies of after-hours staff, nurse triage lines, and call centers. The DPC physician has a phone number and a commitment to their patients. We exist to close that gap — with technology that is HIPAA-compliant, clinically responsible, and genuinely thoughtful.

Founder & Clinical Lead
A Family Nurse Practitioner student with roots in Spring Hill, Tennessee, the founder built Shomer Health out of a recognition that the DPC model — the most patient-centered approach to primary care that exists — lacked the infrastructure to fully protect both the patient and the provider after hours. The platform was designed from the clinical perspective first: what does a physician actually need to see at 6:15 AM? What does a patient actually need to hear at 11 PM? Every feature begins with those two questions.
